Welcome to Clearwater Church of Christ
A community of people loving each other as we grow together toward maturity in Christ.
We serve a God who is the Creator of all the world. He is powerful and magnificent. Yet in all His strength and glory, He looks upon His creation with love, grace, and mercy. He is a God worthy of our love and praise. When we come together to worship God, we strive to do so with hearts full of thanksgiving and love. We also try our very best to worship God the way He has expressed that He desires to be worshiped. Sometimes this means that our worship is different than what people are used to. We would love for you to come worship with us, and if you have any questions about why we worship the way we do, it would be our honor to discuss with you our understanding of the Bible.

About Us
What We Believe
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God, and is the final authority in life and doctrine.
Jesus the Christ was God in the flesh. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was raised to life, and is now reigning in heaven.
Salvation is a free gift from God - by grace through faith in Christ - and we receive that grace when we obediently are buried with Him in baptism.
The church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of reaching the lost and discipling the saved, helping them become fully devoted followers of Christ (Eph. 4:1-6)
Jesus is coming back, and both the saved and the lost will be resurrected - the saved unto eternal glory in heaven and the lost unto eternal separation from God.

Our History
On Sept. 29, 1900, lots were purchased from the Clearwater Building and Loan Association for $250. An abandoned creamery located in the northwest part of town was bought and moved to 118 S. Lee and remodeled into a church building by the Methodist Church. In 1910 that building was moved back from the sidewalk and the south wing was added to the building. In 1921-23 the building was jacked up while horse teams excavated the basement. This building was sold to members of the Church of Christ in 1959 for $5,000. The Clearwater Church of Christ met for its first service on Feb. 14, 1960 with 33 present. Philip Slate, the evangelist from the South Emporia congregation preached in a gospel meeting; Doin Pitchford was the first local preacher.
The first preacher's home was purchased in Oct. 1963. The South Emporia congregation provided partial support for the minister from the beginning. They also sent song leaders each Sunday morning for several years. In 1982, a $157,000 bond issue was sold to finance the construction of a new church building at 13900 Diagonal Road on the north edge of town. The first service was held in the new building on April 8, 1984, with 125 present. In 1997, the bond issue was paid off and a loan was secured to build a 40' x 80' addition on the west end of the building for a new fellowship room. The parking lot was also paved at that time.
