This is the Gospel: The Victory of the Risen Christ
April 20, 2025
- The resurrection confirms the Cross
- The resurrection declares death defeated
- The resurrection is the for our life now
Reflection Questions:
In what ways does the resurrection serve as God’s confirmation of Christ’s identity and mission?
If Jesus had not been raised, how would that affect the meaning of the cross and your faith?
What does it mean for your life that Jesus was both crucified in weakness and raised in power (Phil. 2:8-9)?
What does Paul mean when he says that death is “the last enemy”? How does the resurrection affect your perspective on mortality?
How might the fear of death still shape your decisions, relationships, or sense of purpose? How does the resurrection challenge that fear?
If Jesus has “abolished death” and brought “life and immortality to light” (2 Tim. 1:10), how should this reframe our hope, especially in seasons of suffering?
Romans 6 says we were raised with Christ “to walk in newness of life.” What habits, attitudes, or priorities need to change in light of that calling?
Colossians 3 calls us to set our minds “on things above.” How can resurrection focus shape the way you live in a world grounded in the here and now?
Are there areas in your life where you still live as though Friday has the final word? What would it look like to live more fully in the reality of Sunday morning?
